India is a place where various festivals are celebrated such as Holi, Diwali, Id-Ul-Zuha, Christmas and many more. But with the passage of time Yoga has been popular in India as well as in all over the world. With the advent of technology the life of people is changing day by day and the level of stress and diseases are also growing high day by day. In India, the holy land of Rishikesh plays host to the International Yoga Day. Here, this day was initially celebrated on 21st June 2015 and till then it is being celebrated every year.

Yoga has produced a euphoric plead with magnetic positive vibes around, when thousands of persons including men and women did yoga for 1 hour on the event of International Yoga day around the world. Rishikesh is blessed with the natural beauty and people from all across the globe came here to practice Yoga. There are lots of ashrams in rishikesh from where you can learn Yoga and near the Holy river Ganga. All this has made Rishikesh the World Yoga Capital. Many people thinks that the Yoga is a physical exercise but it is a practice to find inner peace, free yourself from stress and far beyond that. It makes you body fit and also cleanses your body and soul. Yoga is a practice which is not related to any particular religion; no matter what your religion you can do Yoga in an effective manner. It is a science which is used for the healthy as well as peaceful life.

Be it people from India, America, Canada, UK all visit to Rishikesh and participate in Yoga. Other than Rishikesh, in Delhi also on 21 June 2015 a huge yoga session was arranged which was led by the Prime minister of India Narendra Modi and over 36,000 people participated in it. So, if want to visit Rishikesh for the upcoming Yoga International Day on 21 June 2017 then you should definitely join at AYM Yoga Ashram Rishikesh. Association for Yoga and Meditation will celebrate Yoga festival from 15 June to 21 June 2017. Other than this, there are various ashrams in Rishikesh where you can join to celebrate to join this festival.


How to reach Rishikesh?

You can reach easily to Rishikesh by New Delhi, capital of India. Here we are giving you some options to visit Rishikesh from New Delhi.
  • ·      By Air :
The nearest Airport to Rishikesh is Jolly Grant airport at Dehradun and is about 35 kilometers away. Flights of Spice Jet, Jet Airways and Air India daily fly from Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi. After reaching to Jolly Grant Airport you can opt for regular bus or taxi service which is easily available.
  • ·      By Train :
The nearby railhead to Rishikesh is in Haridwar and is about 25 kilometers away. Haridwar, in turn, is linked to major cities of India like such as Delhi, Mumbai and others. From Delhi to Haridwar some most popular trains are Jan Shatabdi, Shatabadi Express, Nanda Devi Express, Mussoorie Express and others. From Haridwar you can easily hire Taxi to Rishikesh or can also travel from bus. Taxi will take about 30 minutes to reach Rishikesh whereas bus will take upto 45 minutes.

Rishikesh has an excellent network of buses connecting it with important places Dehradun, New Delhi and Haridwar. Buses from New Delhi to Rishikesh depart in the morning and late evening from the Kashmere Gate ISBT, New Delhi every day. Moreover, you can select from a deluxe, regular or a luxurious coach.
  • ·      Road or Self Drive :
Driving up to Rishikesh is appealing because it is linked to other cities by the National Highway 58. The drive from Delhi to Rishikesh is about approximately 6 to 7 hours. So you can select to travel Rishikesh by self driving by a car.
